Earlier this year, Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, Harrogate teamed up with HarperCollins and Alibi to unearth some of the country’s hottest new crime-writing talent of 2011 by asking aspiring authors to submit their own short stories.
The competition is now closed – many thanks to everyone who entered. The hundreds and hundreds of short story entries have now been whittled down to just eight finalists and we’re asking you to vote for your favourite.
The entry receiving the most public votes will be allocated one ‘judge vote’, with four more ‘judge votes’ awarded from our expert judging panel made up of representatives from Harrogate International Festival, HarperCollins, Alibi and Camilla Lackberg.
The overall winner will be announced during a special reception at Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival and will get a fantastic holiday to Sweden with flights and two nights in a central Gothenburg hotel courtesy of Visit Sweden and SAS, a Kindle and a library of 100 Harper Collins crime books including a signed Camilla Lackberg back catalogue.
