Forget the clichéd ’50 and Fabulous!’ Marina and Miranda offer a clear-eyed account of midlife’s challenges. Marina’s The Middlepause: On Turning 50 is part memoir, drawing on history, philosophy, and literature, to help those of a similar age to embrace the ‘blows and scars’ of life. Her honest and uplifting call is to fight on, battle-scarred and proud.
Music journalist and broadcaster Miranda Sawyer has lived life by her own rules, but hit her own mid-life crisis when she was turning 44, with a new born baby, realising by the time she’s 18, she will be over 60. Once a poster girl for youth culture, she realised she had only so much time left – time to earn money, fulfil her potential, and get that perfect house. The low-level anxiety resulted in her book Out of Time, aimed at helping women struggling with the existential puzzle of middle life.
Marina and Miranda will be interviewed by Matthew Stadlen, radio and television presenter, producer and writer.
