Tim Garland is established as a saxophone virtuoso in jazz circles worldwide. The Grammy award-winning saxophonist first emerged onto the jazz scene performing alongside the legendary Ronnie Scott, who opened his iconic club in 1959. From one legendary generation of jazz, to Tim’s notable stints with piano legend Chick Corea’s touring band, Garland has since received numerous five-star reviews and awards (including BBC Radio 3’s Innovation Award) for his solo releases and compositions, becoming one of the jazz geniuses of our time.

The programme will feature music from their award winning CD “One” which was released in 2016, and won universal acclaim. Songs including Bright New Year, Samai For Peace, The Eternal Greeting and Foretold will be featured in the performance and the Quartet will also perform repertoire from previous releases including Tyne Song, a number dedicated to the River Tyne and Rosa Ballerina, a beautiful ballad written initially for Tim’s daughter.

British saxophonist and reed player Tim Garland is a forward-thinking jazz musician whose inventive style often crosses the boundaries between modern creative improvisation and contemporary classical composition. Expect sophisticated grooves, power and lyricism in equal measure. Tim Garland is a giant of the saxophone renowned for his enduring positivity in what promises to be an exuberant feel-good concert.

“Garland has developed the story-telling privilege that is the province of the great
