FREE music sessions for mums under 25 and children under 5

About Musical Mums

Musical Mums is a FREE singing and music-making group where mums under 25 and children under 5 can explore music together in a relaxed and friendly environment. Sessions are an action-packed 45 minutes of musical activities designed to develop confidence, creativity and coordination followed by 15 minutes of socialising and refreshments. Sessions are a great opportunity to meet others your own age, gain new skills and make new friends. Musical Mums is also a great way to support your child’s development. It doesn’t matter if you are new to singing – Musical Mums is open to all so simply drop in and give it a go!

Musical Mums | Tues | 1pm | Wesley Centre, Harrogate

Our sessions are led by early-years musician, Hannah Dilworth, and feature a range of activities including playing instruments, listening to live music and singing songs. Activities are specially designed to appeal to children from 0-5 years and are varied to engage both boisterous tots and new-borns.

We meet every Tuesday from 1pm-2pm in the Wesley Centre, Harrogate. It is entirely free to attend, we’ll even reimburse your travel costs! We’ll also give you a free £10 Early Learning Centre voucher for every 10th session attended. Musical Mums is a drop-in group – there is no pressure to attend every week, simply come along when it suits you.

Harrogate International Festivals works in partnership with a range of organisations including Connextions, Children’s Centres and local midwives to signpost you to relevant guidance on healthcare, housing, education, training and employment opportunities. We also run an annual leadership programme that gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and boost your CV. Our Facebook group is also a great way to keep in touch with other mums, get advice and find support.

Harrogate International Festivals are a charity and this funding is specifically for mums under 25 and their children 0-5. If you are looking for a music group, but are not under 25, we are happy to signpost you. Please feel free to contact Mary or see the following websites Jo Jingles, Rhythm Time for further information.

I never used to sing with my kid because I felt a bit daft, but now we’ve learnt loads of songs and actions and it’s really fun. I try and carry it on at home too, she stops crying when we sing!
