We are delighted to announce that Sara Wolstenholme will join the Heath Quartet as their new second violinist following the departure of Cerys Jones in late 2016.
Sara commented: “I am delighted to be joining the Heath Quartet. As a musician, it is a privilege to spend your days delving into incredible string quartet repertoire and a particular joy to be embarking on this journey with Ollie, Gary and Chris. I am so looking forward to getting stuck in to our future projects with the energy, commitment and humour that this wonderful group embodies.”
Sara’s chamber music performances have taken her to the foremost concert halls including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Kings Place. She was Leader of the Finzi Quartet until 2012, performing in the Austria, France, Holland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Norway, the UK and Australia with radio broadcasts abroad and for BBC Radio 3. She has also taught chamber music at the Royal Northern College of Music and Trinity College of Music. Sara also founded the Beddgelert Music Festival in 2013.
Sara held Principal positions in orchestras in both the UK and Sweden, and is invited as Guest Principal with orchestras including the Philharmonia, Aurora Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. She has also performed concertos with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Hallé Orchestra.
