Don’t worry if you don’t know the answers because for our second ever Salon North, Prof Elaine Fox will be on hand to help you understand just what makes you tick from an entirely scientific point of view.
Elaine Fox is a neuroscientist of note who has researched widely on the science of emotions. She is currently a Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford and Professor of Psychology at the University of Essex. Her studies and discoveries of the genetic aspects of optimism are wildly influential, and have even led to her appearance in an ABC documentary with Michael J. Fox (no relation) entitled The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist. Time to figure out if your optimism (or pessimism) is curable.
