Winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition at the age of 16, Nicola Benedetti is one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation. She performs with the highest calibre of orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony and London Symphony Orchestra and makes regular appearances at the BBC Proms. Nicola has won numerous awards including Best Female Artist at the 2012 and 2013 Classical Brit Awards, an MBE in 2013 and she was awarded the Queen’s Medal for Music in 2017. In this rare and intimate solo recital, Benedetti presents a wonderful programme which includes a new piece written for her by jazz legend Wynton Marsalis.

Bach Partita No. 3 in E major, BWV 1006
Ysaÿe Violin Sonata No.5 in G major, Op. 27
Wynton Marsalis New Work for Solo Violin
Bach Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004

“In terms of sheer technique, I’m not sure if I’ve heard this magnificent work better played. From the sorrowing nocturne through the fiendish cadenza to the hurtling finale, Benedetti’s warmth, polish and laser-like fingering never wobbled” – The Times
