The Big Read with Mari Hannah

It’s almost time for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival’s brilliant Reader-in-Residence, Mari Hannah, to hit the road once more as we tour libraries across the North with the Big Read. Focusing this year on James Patterson’s Along Came a Spider, we hope to encourage as many people as possible into libraries, to read this fantastic work of detective fiction and to engage in open conversation. Bestselling crime author Mari Hannah will be facilitating the discussion both in person and through social media –  join the conversation online at #BigRead2018.

Along Came a Spider, is the first book in the worldwide bestselling series and introduces Detective Alex Cross. Two children have been kidnapped from an elite private school in Washington DC, and Alex Cross is charged with finding them. The kidnapper is their maths teacher, a man named Gary Soneji. As Cross gets pulled deeper into the strange world of the kidnapper, it becomes clear he is not what he seems…
