The Amici Ensemble was originally formed in the 1980s to showcase the talents of professional musicians based in the region, and to demonstrate that great, high-quality orchestral music can be programmed locally without having to draw players from further afield. The players are traditionally drawn from the region’s larger professional orchestras including Opera North, the Halle and BBC Philharmonic, which ensures an incredibly high standard of performance. Whilst renowned for accompanying soloists and choirs, the orchestra are delighted to be returning to a more symphonic repertoire with a fitting close to the 2022 Harrogate Music Festival.

The Festival Finale will be dedicated to the memory of Malcolm Neesam, our Vice President and stalwart supporter, who sadly died on 28 June 2022.

Rossini An Italian In Algiers
Mozart  Symphony No. 38 in D major “Prague”
