Read it? Love it? Swap It!

Harrogate International Festivals now has three mini-libraries in the town. You can find the little blue community libraries located at the Harrogate Festival office on Cheltenham Parade, at New Park Primary School, as well as outside A. Smith Opticians and Mrs Smith’s Cafe!

Books can be accessed 24 hours a day, with the idea people can take and replace books.

The mini-libraries build on Harrogate International Festival’s legacy of promoting reading and literacy. It already supports mini-libraries on board Transdev’s Number 36 buses  and within Harrogate social spot Cold Bath Brewery to encourage reading in the wider community.

As part of its outreach work, the Festival also hosts an annual Big Read in libraries across the North, bringing bestselling authors to some of the most hard to reach audiences, and delivers the Big Write for schoolchildren across the district.

The mini library scheme builds on the Festivals’ reputation for positioning Harrogate as a book lovers’ destination. Harrogate was claimed the ‘UK’s most bookish town’ in the national press last year thanks to its world-class literary festivals.
