Leroy Kromm | Director

Established in 1924, the San Jose Symphonic Choir has been under the direction of Leroy Kromm since 1985 and is based in Silicon Valley, San Francisco. In addition to performing standard symphonic choral repertoire, the Choir also regularly commissions and performs works by living composers and in particular, compositions that highlight wider community and humanitarian issues and causes. The Choir presents itself rather humbly; as a community of “ordinary people making extraordinary music”.

The San Jose Symphonic Choir presents a wonderful selection of choral music that crosses multiple generations of composers and takes inspiration from all over the world. From the 16th Century music of Palestrina, through the 19th and 20th Century with Mendelssohn and Rachmaninoff to the celebrated choral composers of today including the award winning Morten Lauridsen.
