The Albion Quartet is a recently formed ensemble which brings together four outstanding young musicians, following years of close collaboration. It was a shared belief in the communicative power of the string quartet that brought these accomplished musicians together and as an ensemble they have quickly developed a reputation for their innovative programming and stunning performances. The Quartet feels a particular affinity to the chamber music of Antonín Dvořák and their debut recordings of Dvořák’s Quartets will also be released in 2018, on Signum Records.

Haydn String Quartet No. 3 in C major, Op. 76, “Emperor”
Suk Meditation on the Old Czech Chorale, “St. Wenceslas”, Op. 35a
Dvořák String Quartet No. 5 in F minor, Op. 9

“Tamsin Waley-Cohen produces a beautiful, soft, creamy tone in the lyrical passages, and throughout the recital we’re treated to a remarkable palette of tone colours” – Gramophone
