Get ready for an epic finale. Leading British conductor, Sir Mark Elder, has steered the Hallé since 2000, cementing its reputation for artistic excellence, before which he was famously Music Director of English National Opera. He has worked with the world’s leading symphony orchestras, features on TV, and has appeared annually at the BBC Proms for many years. In 2017, he joined an elite few when he was awarded the Companion of Honour.

The programme includes a celebration of Tchaikovsky on the 125th anniversary of the great composer’s death. This special night, featuring violinist Henning Kraggerud, known for his deep natural musicianship, promises an unforgettable Festival Finale.
