From humanity’s search for ultimate truth to the history of human emotions, Berwins Salon North promises to enlighten and inspire focussing on the theme, Evolution.

Berwins Salon North is a night out with a difference as three experts deliver TED-style talks at the Crown Hotel, designed to change your life for the better. Evolution, the second in the Autumn series, Revolution, Evolution and Constitution, takes place on Thursday 30 November, 7.30pm.

Author, Quantum physicist and consultant to the New Scientist, Michael Brooks will put in to context the way humanity’s search for ultimate truth – making sense of the universe – has evolved.  He’ll explain the ultimate ideas about our existence in time and space from astrology to quantum theory.

Dr Tiffany Watt-Smith, author of the Book of Human Emotions, will reveal the evolution of emotions. She’ll explore how our relationship towards emotions has changed over time and how our sense of self is defined by the emotions surrounding our most precious memories.

Named as one of 10 people who could change the world by the New Statesman, founding CEO of ClientEarth, a poet and a Zen priest, James Thornton is a soaring force in environmental activism. He’ll explain how we can fight for change, and how everyone can play a role in evolving towards a healthier planet.

Dexter Dias QC, a human rights barrister, will talk about The Ten Types of Human, exploring who we become when faced with life’s most difficult decisions.
