Become a Festival Assistant!

Gain experience, go behind the scenes and support the Festivals
Each summer we seek enthusiastic individuals to join the team and help run our exciting Festivals programme, providing a comprehensive introduction to the wide variety of roles and tasks involved in running a nationally renowned multi-arts festival.
Placements offer valuable professional experience for those interested in developing a career in event management, arts administration, leisure and tourism, entertainment management and hospitality.
Within this placement you will help us to deliver Harrogate Music Festival, which runs throughout the month of July, and our renowned Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, as well as series of other exciting events. Candidates should demonstrate an enthusiasm and interest in the arts, as well as event management and marketing.
All placements are full-time, (6 days per week during July). We do prefer placements for the duration but are able to afford flexibility for the right candidate.
In return for volunteers’ hard work, accommodation is provided, as is a small contribution towards living costs. You will also receive a free Harrogate International Festivals T-shirt to wear during the festival and to keep. And of course, the opportunity to get behind the scenes at a famous festival with the chance to see great events for free!
APPLICATIONS FOR THE FESTIVAL ASSISTANT ROLE ARE NOW CLOSED.
They will reopen in December 2023 for Summer 2024 applications.
Although this role is closed, you can apply to become a volunteer with the Festival, please click here for more information or email ellen@harrogate-festival.org.uk
