Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are rescheduling our Literary Lunch starring Susie Dent to the second day of the Festival: Friday 21 October, 12pm-2.30pm.
Usually the opening chapter of the Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival, which in its tenth year features a star-studded line up of 23 writers, the Literary Lunch is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the Festival, meet new people, rekindle old connections, enjoy a delicious meal, and be entertained by the Queen of Dictionary Corner.
We hope that you can make this new date and will invite your friends and colleagues along.
If you’ve already booked tickets for Thursday 20 October, please call our Box Office to swap your tickets to Friday 21 October or alternatively ask for a refund on 01423 562303.
Lunch with Susie Dent | Friday 21 October 2022 | 12pm – 2.30pm | The Crown Hotel, Harrogate | Tickets £39
In addition to being the resident word expert in Dictionary Corner on Channel 4’s Countdown and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Susie has been on every programme about words: 15 x 15, Word of Mouth, More or Less; and is a regular panellist on R4’s Wordaholics. Susie also writes a weekly column for the Radio Times, reviews for the Spectator and has 1,000,000 followers on Twitter.
Her latest book – An Emotional Dictionary – is the book she has always wanted to write! Whether it’s the distress of a bad haircut (age-otori) or longing for the food someone else is eating (groaking), the pleasure found in other people’s happiness (confelicity) or the shock of jumping into icy water (curglaff), there are real words to pinpoint exactly how you feel and Susie is going to help you find them.
Tickets are £39 and include a glass of wine on arrival followed by a two-course lunch, tea or coffee and petits fours. Find out more and book here.
