When Mica Sefia takes to the stage in Harrogate next month (July 5), she will be following in some famous footsteps.

Harrogate Music Festival has a rich history for helping launch the careers of future stars, giving a platform to a wide range of talented young stars, including Amy Winehouse and Paloma Faith.

And Mica, one of the finest young contemporary musical artists to emerge in this country in the last few years, will hope to emulate their success.

The Spiegeltent will form the ideal backdrop to what promises to be a dazzling evening of modern genre-defying music, filled with blues, soul and rock.

Originally from Liverpool, but now based in Leeds, Mica is a rising star of the local music scene. Having headlined at various well-known venues in Leeds such as Brudenell Social Club, Hyde Park Book Club and The Wardrobe, as well as multiple Sofar Sounds gigs, Mica is already making herself known in the music world with an ever-growing fan base.

Inspired by the likes of Brittany Howard and Jimi Hendrix, Mica will perform a mixture of well-loved covers and original songs. For the main show she will be joined by her band, followed by a late night acoustic set when she will perform solo, bringing her own unique vibe to the Spiegeltent.

Rosie Gilbertson, Music Festival Manager at Harrogate International Festivals, said: “Harrogate Music Festival is all about creating a diverse programme featuring talented and exciting performers, like Mica. She’s already making waves in the music scene and is destined to become a big name – I think the Festival audience is going to love her.”
