Workshops at the Carnival

Urban Art Chalking Art

All ages

Using a 500 year old chalking technique, you’ll be helping to create a massive work of art that knows no boundaries.

Everyone gets the chance to create the piece, help for a while and pop back to see how things are going.

Leeds West Indian Carnival

Ages 10+

Create accessories to wear at Carnival lead by designers for Leeds. Bling up hats and neck pieces using gems and feathers. Listen to the music of the Caribbean and learn some carnival dance moves to show off your new creations.

Annapurna Dance

Presenting a beautiful rustic drum dance from Tamilnadu called Parai Attam. Dancers combine within singing and playing the drums. Parai is one of the earliest percussion instruments of India dating back to prehistoric times.

Belly Dancing

Ages 10+

Houriat dance group will be introducing the beauty and art of belly dancing.
