Ahmed Dickinson is an acclaimed Cuban classical guitarist known for his expressive playing and deep musicality. A graduate of Havana’s prestigious Superior Institute of Art, Dickinson has performed on some of the world’s most respected stages, including London’s Wigmore Hall and King’s Place. His performances are marked by emotional depth, technical brilliance, and a deep connection to the rich musical traditions of his heritage.

The programme includes Villa-Lobos’  Five Preludes  — poetic and soulful pieces each offering a glimpse into Villa-Lobos’ ability to fuse European musical traditions with the folk melodies. Dickinson will also perform Songs of the Calendar by Cuban composer Eduardo Martín. These imaginative pieces blend the sounds of Cuba’s streets and countryside with refined classical technique. The programme concludes with Koyumbaba by Italian composer Carlo Domeniconi, a bold and evocative work inspired by Brazil.

Whether you’re a seasoned classical music lover or new to the world of guitar, this concert promises a moving and memorable experience. Let Ahmed Dickinson guide you on a musical journey that spans continents and styles — all brought to life through the voice of the guitar.

The concert will last c.60 minutes with no interval.
