Orchestra for the Earth was established in England in 2017 with the mission of promoting the importance of caring for and protecting our planet. John Warner, the founder and current artistic director, is an emerging talent in the world of conducting. He serves as the Conductor in Residence with Oxford Opera and has conducted some of the world’s leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic.

Joining them is acclaimed violinist Lana Trotovšek, known for her expressive tone and musical insight, praised by The Strad and The Washington Post. She has performed at major venues like Wigmore Hall and appears regularly on Mezzo Live, Medici TV, and BBC Radio 3.

The orchestra’s repertoire often reflects themes of nature and the environment. The concert, titled Earth, Sea and Sky, will open fittingly with Grieg’s ‘Morning Mood’ from Peer Gynt which captures nature’s quiet awakening, whilst ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ will capture the mystery and drama of nature through its gradually intensifying rhythm. Vaughan Williams’ beloved The Lark Ascending offers a moment of stillness and evokes a sense of serenity celebrating the beauty of the English countryside. This is a musical journey through light, shadow, and open sky—an evening to stir the senses and reconnect with the natural world through sound.

The concert will last c.2 hours including a 20 minute interval. Join founder and conductor John Warner for a pre-concert talk about the mission of the orchestra and the evening’s repertoire.
