Museum of the Moon

To mark the 50th anniversary of the first man on the moon, St Wilfrid’s Church became home to an out of this world art installation, Museum of the Moon. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the installation features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface. Museum of the Moon is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram and was presented in Harrogate from the 7th to the 14th of July 2019.
