Glasgow-born M.C. Beaton is the creator of Agatha Raisin, the bouncy public relations maven turned amateur sleuth with a lovable streak. A veteran of Fleet Street, Marion worked in New York as a journalist before returning to Scotland (where she created Hamish Macbeth). A move to the Cotswolds inspired the brilliant Agatha, now charming viewers on Sky TV starring Ashley Jensen.
Stuart MacBride may have an even more eclectic CV than his fellow Scot. Life before crime writing, included stints as an actor, graphic designer and undertaker. The bestselling author of the Logan McRae series, set in Aberdeen, advises we all sit down with a beer and bag of chips and a good book; his latest The Blood Road, was acclaimed as his best work yet.
