Recognising the best books by British and Irish crime writers, the prestigious award is now in its 17^th year. Hosted by TV presenter and journalist Mark Lawson, and with a pint of Yorkshire’s finest for company, it promises to be a stylish opening to the 2021 festival.

There will also be an Outstanding Contribution award to a giant of the genre and, from 9pm, celebrations continue with the official Festival opening party.
