Born in Geneva in 1987, Swiss-Chinese pianist Louis Schwizgebel has been described as an “insightful musician” by the New York Times. Second prize winner of the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2012, Schwizgebel was invited to become a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist in 2013. He made his BBC Proms debut in 2014 with an electrifying televised performance of Prokofiev’s First Concerto and continues to perform regularly both in recital and with orchestras across the globe. Schwizgebel’s elegant programme of Schubert and Chopin, featuring the favoured 24 Préludes – one in each major and minor key – is sure to be a crowd-pleasing opener to this series.

Schubert Allegretto in C minor
Schubert 4 Impromptus, Op.142
Chopin 24 Préludes, Op.28

“Gorgeously singing and wonderfully delicate.” – BBC Music Magazine
