Coming from a rich tradition, pianist Andreas Haefliger “belongs to that elite group of interpreters…one of the most serious, questing pianists on the circuit today…a complete Beethovenian.” Born into a distinguished Swiss musical family in 1962, Haefliger studied at Juilliard and has since enjoyed performing regularly both in recital and with orchestras across the globes. Haefliger’s elegant programme celebrates Beethoven’s 250th birthday with a Fantasia and Sonata followed by Mussorgsky’s 10-movement musical work that was inspired by a visit to an art exhibition. Although originally composed in 1874 for solo piano, Pictures at an Exhibition became better known in orchestral form, particularly as arranged by French composer Maurice Ravel in 1922.

Beethoven Fantasia in G Minor, Op.77
Beethoven Piano Sonata No.30 in E major, Op.109
