The No. 1 bestseller THE GOOD LIFE is about to come out in paperback. Who or what was the inspiration for the novel?

I can get a story in my mind I need to write or sometimes I get a character I need to build a story around, that’s my usual inspiration but this time I was listening to the words of the song The Good Life and a story formed from there.

What’s next from you, Martina? We see that details have been announced of GET EVEN to be published this October. Please could you tell us a little bit more about the novel?

This is a tale of a women and her two husbands, who both have secrets… Be careful what you wish for as you just might get it !!

We know that you have a packed schedule and won’t be at this year’s festival? If you could attend though what would be your festival highlight?

Jo Nesbo !! I would love to be there to hear what he had to say.

Second Best, My Dad and Me – Callum Best – He doesn’t trash his father’s memory, just tells it like it was. Thank God that boy had his mother there for him. A poignant story.
