Leading Yorkshire Hotel Brand Becomes Latest Harrogate International Festivals Sponsor

Yorkshire’s largest independent hotel group, Cedar Court Hotels, is the latest big-name sponsor of Harrogate International Festivals.

Cedar Court Hotels, which has four-star hotels in prime locations Harrogate, Bradford, Huddersfield and Wakefield, has become one of the Festival’s Platinum Partners.

Its hotels attract around 500,000 visitors to Yorkshire each year and the business has recently invested £4.5m into its portfolio, including major refurbishments of Cedar Court Hotel Huddersfield, at Ainley Top, and its hotel just outside Bradford.

Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate is one of the spa town’s most prestigious hotels and the historic Grade-II Listed building was among those lit up as part of Harrogate’s inaugural light trail – Beam – this month.

Cedar Court managing director, Wayne Topley, said: “We are thrilled to become one of Harrogate International Festivals’ Platinum Partners. Harrogate is synonymous with world-class art and culture – attracting amazing musicians as well as some of the biggest names in literature.

“With more than 35 years’ experience, our ethos is all about being top of the class in hospitality, whether we’re hosting a business conference, wedding, summer party in the Tipi, Christmas gathering or a family enjoying a weekend away, and to be a Festival sponsor feels like a perfect match.”

Sharon Canavar, Harrogate International Festivals chief executive, said: “We are delighted that such a highly regarded brand, and one with its roots very much in Yorkshire, has become our latest sponsor.

“Art and culture go hand in hand with hospitality and the fact that Cedar Court Hotels believe in Harrogate and are prepared to invest in the town makes this partnership all the more rewarding.

“As an arts organisation we rely on sponsors not only to enable us to stage major concerts and festivals, but also to create new programmes and projects that benefit the local community, and thanks to the support of Cedar Court Hotels this important work can continue.”
