Welcome to the Harrogate International Sunday Series. Join us and experience the world’s brightest talents here in the heart of Yorkshire with our season of coffee concerts set in the Victorian splendour of the Old Swan Hotel.
2019 saw internationally renowned pianist Louis Schwizgebel open the series in January with a stunning recital of works by Schubert and Chopin. Moving into February we welcomed the youngest-ever winner of the BBC Young Musician Competition, trombonist Peter Moore, who showcased the trombones ability to sing with a programme including a bespoke work composed for him by Roxanna Panufnik. Later in the month the charismatic Ruisi Quartet took to the stage.
The series also featured violinist Jennifer Pike, who performed works by Bach, Vaughan Williams, Jeremy Pike and Elgar with one of the UK’s best loved pianists Martin Roscoe. Bringing the series to a close we welcomed pianist Yevgeny Sudbin, hailed by The Telegraph as ‘one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century’.
