Cricketing legend Monty Panesar was considered the saviour of English spin bowling for a time, quickly becoming a national hero after he established himself with England in 2006. He remains one of England’s most popular cricketers and an inspiration for British Asians as the first Sikh cricketer to play for England.

As Monty’s career declined, so did his health, and he struggled with a shoulder injury before experiencing mental health issues. His autobiography, The Full Monty, is the hilarious, poignant and uplifting story of his life and career, from a happy, cricket-filled childhood in Luton to how he confronted and overcame his issues to regain his place as a national treasure.

Monty shares the view from his front row seat as he recounts some of the greatest dramas in English cricket, along with his own inspiring story.

Monty Panesar  is a former English international cricketer. A left arm finger spin bowler, Panesar made his Test cricket debut in 2006 against India in Nagpur and One Day International debut for England in 2007. In English county cricket, he has played for Northamptonshire, Sussex and Essex. He has taken over 700 first-class wickets during his career.
