Raworths Run 2024

Raworths Runs

  • Friday 4 October 2023 | 6.30am
  • Free for all, no need to book
  • The 5km run starts and finish at the Harrogate Cenotaph [HG1 1PE]

As part of the Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival, we’re thrilled to bring back Raworths Runs,  in partnership with the Early Bird Run Crew for a one-off special run on Friday 4th October 2024 at 6.30am.

The power of reading is well known. It reduces stress, lowers blood pressure and improves brain connectivity, and we want to celebrate other activities that reap the same benefits.

Running with the Early Bird Run Crew is a perfect partnership.

Take part in the free 5k run (3.1mile) , at your own pace and receive a free book for taking part, as well as having the opportunity to be part of the fantastic Harrogate community.

We will meet at 6.30am on Friday 4th October 2024, by the Harrogate Cenotaph.

This event is free for anyone wanting to run in community, and is bound to get your Friday mojo on track ready for the weekend!

Q&A:

Where are we meeting? Meet at the Cenotaph in Harrogate at 6.30am (HG1 1PE.)

What is the route? Where will I end up? Exact route 5km (3.1 miles) TBC, but we will start and end at the Cenotaph.

What do I need to wear/bring? Wear anything you feel comfortable running in, but we do recommend reflective clothing – the autumn mornings can still be dark!

I’m a new/slow runner – can I still come? Of course, we welcome runners of all abilities. We encourage you to run at your own pace, and if you need to walk some of the route that’s absolutely fine too!

Do I have to run as part of the group? No, we don’t insist you run in group at all, totally up to you. Everyone fires off together but then people run at their own pace, this just means how you’re feeling on the day determines your gas pedal.

What’s the minimum age to run? 16 to run on your own, anyone under 16 must have a parent or guardian with them.

Can I bring the dog? Please do, we’re always pleased to welcome pets – just make sure they’re on a lead.

The Early Bird Run Crew is a collective – all runners run at their own risk. For more information about the Early Bird Run crew, visit their website here.
