Begin your weekend with a sensory storytelling experience led by children’s book author and illustrator Liam Callaghan.
This magically musical storytelling session opens up the sense and minds of young and old alike. No one has ever met the Neighbours Upstairs, but they sneak and creek around the place, in many different forms. You can sometimes hear, see, smell, taste and touch them – but they’ll never show their face…
The Neighbours Upstairs is a tale about a young child who keeps catching glimpses of the mystical bunch. The child doesn’t know what to make of these wispy wonders at first. Are they trying to scare? Do we even know they’re really there?
These five short stories are adorned by the magical musings of Tom Parry – a musician and children’s performer in his own right (Star in the Apple) – including harp, guitar, clarinet and other audible trickery.
Children will have a chance to explore each sense, with an opportunity to play with some magical, sense bending gadgets and gizmos! There’s also a chance to guess what’s in the Whatboxes! What’s a Whatbox? A Whatbox is a box that’s got lots of ‘what’s – lots of ‘what’s to hear and smell and touch, but no peeking! There are also Whatcubes of food, to taste and test and guess your best (let’s hope it’s something you like!).
This sensory story session is a safe space for all parents and children to explore their senses and for interests to pique, with a wholesome tale of Neighbours, unique.
This is a SEN-friendly event.
