Book of the month

Welcome to Book of the Month. Every month, we pick one book we love and share it with you. Get ready for amazing tales, can’t miss books and conversation – online and in real life.

Read along with us, and crime fiction fans across the UK, and  join the conversation by using the hashtag #HIFYoureBooked.

Our pick for September 2023 Book Of The Month is…

The Long Call by Ann Cleeves

The Long Call was selected as the chosen book for this year’s Big Read, the North’s biggest book club which toured libraries across Yorkshire and the North East to celebrate crime fiction and re-engage readers with their local libraries. The free events were hosted by Luca Veste, the author of numerous crime books and the 2023 Reader-in-Residence at Harrogate International Festivals, and took place between 26-30 June.
