Music Over The Waters by Malcolm G Neesam

Purchase your very own piece of Harrogate International Festivals history.

Harrogate’s foremost historian Malcolm Neesam, who sadly passed away earlier this year, explores the role that music has played in the town’s history, beginning in the 18th century and ending with the Fiftieth Anniversary of Harrogate International Festivals in 2016.

Commissioned to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Festivals, this book examines the town’s musical culture and how music at Harrogate Spa led to the creation of Harrogate International Festivals and left a rich, musical legacy in the town.

The book is a detailed history and celebration of music in the town with several entertaining stories and personalities along the way!

The book can be posted for a small postal fee of £7.50 or can be collected free of charge from the Box Office at: 32 Cheltenham Parade, Harrogate, HG1 1DB.

In loving memory of our Vice President Malcolm Neesam, 28 June 1946 – 28 June 2022.

50th Anniversary Commemorative Emma Bridgewater Mug

The mug, which is decorated in Emma Bridgewater’s classic pattern Black Toast, features a celebration of aspects of Harrogate International Festivals’ work over the last 50 years.

Emma said: “I’ve always loved Harrogate, from trade years 30 years ago to the joys of Bettys and the tempting ‘Fat Rascal’. So Harrogate International Festival is an easy one to say yes to, whether that be to do a talk or to design a mug! I am so pleased this stylish mug is going down a storm.”

Each mug sold will generate £10 towards the Future 50 Appeal, helping Harrogate International Festivals to achieve their ambition to create a secure future for the Festivals and to dramatically increase the cultural opportunities for Harrogate and the wider region.

This stylish and highly collectable mug is exclusively available from the Harrogate International Festivals, priced at £15.

Only 1000 mugs have been produced, making this the perfect commemorative piece and a collectors’ item.
